Maintenance Tips for April

Posted at April 4, 2018 in News Top Tips by JHPS Gardens

Gardens both great and small require general maintenance to stay looking fresh. Here are our 3 top tips for keeping your garden in check:

Lawn Care

During the growing season your lawn will grow faster and need mowing on a weekly basis. We use a Honda Rotary mower with rollers for our clients’ gardens for maximum results in most conditions and a professional finish.

At this time of year we recommend a Feed and Weed treatment for all lawns. This treatment promotes new growth and inhibits the growth of weeds.

Hedge Cutting

Hedges are often the first part of our gardens that guests and passers -by see. First impressions matter and, when it comes to hedges, there’s nothing more pleasing to the eye than crisp, clean lines.

Like lawns, most hedges should be trimmed regularly to keep them healthy but is dependent on the type of hedge. Click here for more information about maintaining common hedging plans.

Power Washing

You may think that April showers will do a sufficient job in cleaning your flags but think again. These surfaces are susceptible to moss, lichens and algae which can affect their appearance greatly.

Power-washing uses a highly pressurized water jet to clear surfaces of all the above, leaving areas looking like new!

We offer regular or ad-hoc maintenance visits that cover the above and much more. Our clients lead busy lives, and our main objective is to leave them with a garden that is inviting after every visit.
